Jan Theunisz Dextra
1758 – 1764

A set of two beautiful and fine armorial plates with the coat of arms and dragon-head crest of Sir Whistler Webster, 2nd Baronet of Battle Abby, Co. Sussex. The coat of arms is very fine painted in green, ochre, blue, iron-red, black and white! Quite special about the plates is that the white is painted on top of the white ground. The rim is decorated with a border of five trellis diaper-patterned panels edged in scrolls and alternating with five baskets of flowers between leaf-scroll devices within a brown edge.

Marked D/12

Both plates are in wonderful condition, only the plate on the left has a minor chip between 8/9 o’clock
