About us

Mazereeuw Antiquair was established in 2017 by Johan Mazereeuw, who since he was a young boy, has had a passion for art and antiques. Starting as a collector at a young age and dealing on antique markets and small fairs, Johan was able to transform his passion into a business. Together with his business partner Dennis Laseur, he took over the gallery from Dennis’ uncles who founded their business in 1967. Johan and Dennis are a new generation of antique dealers with lots of passion and love for this profession. In their gallery, they offer a varied collection of five centuries of art, from the Golden Age up to and including the Roaring Twenties.

The gallery is located in the centre of Amsterdam’s art and antiques district, on the Spiegelgracht, next to the Rijksmuseum. Walking through the gallery, visitors are transported through time, with each piece whispering stories of its origin and the hands that crafted it. Mazereeuw Antiquair specializes in Dutch Delftware, Dutch Majolica, and Dutch tiles from the 16th, 17th, and 18th century. We offer pieces of timeless elegance to be the highlight of every interior, in the form of fine decorative Delftware to complete tiling projects for your kitchen or bathroom.

Johan studied history and cultural heritage in Amsterdam, did an internship at the Boijmans van Beuningen museum in Rotterdam, and is currently a board member of the Stichting Vrienden van het Nederlands Tegelmuseum (Dutch Tile Museum) in Otterloo. Johan also published articles regarding Dutch Tiles, Majolica and Delftware, which you can find under Antique Stories.
