A large blue and white Dutch Delft Dish with a decoration in the Chinese Transitional style.
On the Decoration is the center we see a Chinese official, in a landscape, bearing a gift. The rim is also decorated with Chinese figures in a landscape with rocks, flowers, and trees.
These dishes are made to be exact copies of the Chinese porcelain examples. This was because of the high demand for Chinese porcelain in the 17th century in Holland and also to be a somewhat cheaper option. Nowadays, we value them at the same level as the Chinese ones.

Unmarked, which is normal for this early period of Delftware.

Provenance: From the collection of a Gentleman in Paris.

The dish is in good condition, with the normal superficial wear and small chips to the rim.
