Origin: Delft
Workshop: De Vergulde Blompot
By: Unknown
Date: mid 18th century

A fine 18th century blue and white dish with the decoration of a farmer’s family.
The decoration is done in almost a sketchy manner, which we also see on 17th and 18th century etchings from for example Rembrandt.
In front of a typical Dutch landscape with houses and a windmill, we see a cow being milked by the daughter. The mother is standing behind the cow. On the left the farmer is holding his son, who is drinking fresh milk from the cow. This all, under a tree.
With a small border decorated with branches with flowers.

Marked: BP

The dish is in very good condition, with the normal superficial wear and small chips to the rim.
