Engraving: Dutch
Circa 1750

An exceptionally beautiful, rare, and finely Dutch engraved wine glass with an unusual decoration of a three-masted sailing ship flanked by a palm tree next to a canal house with a cornucopia draped over the house, in an oval. The oval is then again flanked by flowers.

Inscribed: T’ Welvaren Van Deese Huyse. The Prosperity of this House.

In overall good condition. The glass was broken and is probably composed of two different glasses. The fracture is nicely hidden by an old silver mounting between the bowl and the stem. Further with the usual wear underneath the foot rim.
