A very large blue and white vase of a whopping 50cm!
With a chinoiserie decoration in the Chinese Kangxi style.
The vase has four large cartouches with the decoration of a Chinese river landscape, two times the same. On the first is a decoration we see a river between the rocks with a sailingboat and in the front two Chinses figures. One holds a jug, the other holds something, and behind them a table with a jar. The second landscape also shows a river between the rocks and a boat that is probably collecting merchandise at the figure on the left.
In between the large cartouches are eight small cartouches, also with Chinese landscapes with figures.
This all is painted between leaf tendrils, in a hatched style.

Originally this vase had a lid, but it’s been lost in time.

Marked CK for Cornelis Koppens.

The vase is in good condition but has an old restoration of a missing chip at the top rim.
