A rare early Dutch tile with decoration of a winged cherub head (winged head of an angle), flying above a small green hill. Painted in a circle surrounded by curly leaf branches. This design is called ‘a foglie’ a design first introduced in Northern Italy and came to the Netherlands in the early 17th century.
This type of tiles are attributed to the production of the city of Enkhuizen, as they were only found in, and in a small radius around the city.

The corners are decorated with quarter rozet flowers, with four together one gets a circle with a flower inside.

The tile is in good condition, with some chips at the left side edge, further with the normal superficial wear and small chips according to age.
