Just in! This spectacular and unique tile plaque with depiction of a dog and a cat! The depiction of a dog and a cat are not uncommon, but are never painted on one tile. More common are the tile panels, scarce are single tiles, unique is this tile plaque. What makes this plaque extra special is the text, which translates to: This dog doesn’t bite, this cat doesn’t eat candy’s. Fun detail, the dog is named Jan as we can see on his collar.

Made in Rotterdam, circa 1750-1760.

Two mythological tiles with stories from Ovid Metamorphoses. The story of Vertumnis and Pomona and Hersilia taken to heaven by Juno. Special about these tiles is that they are the only two depicting stories from the Roman mythology. The others are all inspired by the Greek.

Painted in the workshop of Hendrick Schut, Rotterdam, circa 1740.

Painted in Amsterdam in the last quarter of the 17th century.

Two Frisian Majolica armorial plates.

Decorated with the coat of arms of the municipality of Schoterland, Friesland. A broken wheel, sword, lily and two stars are placed on a blue ground in circle. Surrounded by two bands of floral branches.
The broken wheel and sword are a reference to Saint Catherine. The lily and gold stars probably refer to Frisian nobility.

Made in the city of Harlingen, circa 1790 - 1810.
