Turquoise Garniture
Price on Request – INQUIRE
Origin: Delft, the Netherlands
Workshop: unknown
Date: mid 18th century
An extremely rare set of five Dutch Delft vases, a garniture, painted with a floral decoration on a turquoise ground. The color of these vases is highly unusual and rarely occurs on Dutch Delftware. We only know a hand full of other pieces in the color palet from museum collections, and no other garniture like this is known.
We see three lidded vases, with lions on top of the lids, and two beaker vases. All are decorated with roses in a Rococo cartouche.
The Rijksmuseum has an undecorated set of vases in this color.
The vases are in an overall good condition but with some restored chips and lines to the rims of the vases. Also, one lid has a restored chip.
Lidded vases: height 14.2” – width 5.7” – depth 4.9”
Beaker vases: height 10” – width 4.75” – depth 4.25”
