Circa 1630 – 1650

A blue and white Dutch tile with a decoration of a Stork standing on one leg, holding a ball or globe in his paw. This might be a symbolic painting of the world domination of the young Dutch Republic in the 17th century. Quite the unusual decoration! The stork is also the city symbol for The Hague (Den Haag).
With large so-called oxheads as corner decoration.

The tile is in good condition, with some chipping to the edges and the normal superficial wear according to age.
