The Netherlands
Circa 1650 – 1680
A very unusual and rare tile with a decoration in the style of Hieronymus Bosch. We can see a figure dressed as a bird, putting his head inside of an apple. This might have a symbolic erotic meaning of a man entering a woman.
As corner decoration, we see so-called spiders.
The tile is in good condition, with some superficial pits due to use and age. On the down right side are some small plaster filled chips.
