A fully painted Dutch delft tile with the decoration of an elephant between two plants.
The elephant is an exotic creature, which the painter of the never had never seen before in his life. He must have made this drawing after an etching or drawing of one. The elephant is realistically painted and walking towards us, the painter put good effort into the drawing, which is not always the case.
The tile is in good condition, with an old restored chip to the top left corner, further with the normal wear according to age.
