Two Dutch Delft vases converted into table lamps. A wonderful large pail, the vases themself are 16.2 inches high, and wonderfully decorated with sprays of flowers and birds. By this design, we can attribute these vases to the Kam family workshop, and objects dating from this period are associated with the ”De Drie Vergulde Astonne” workshop. The Kam family developed a style of their own during this period. Much of their work is completely covered with painted sprays of flowers and birds in all sorts of attitudes. As a rule, the effect of the decoration is more satisfactory on a large surface, as in this case on these two vases, than on a smaller object. This style of painting was used in Delft at the beginning of the 18th century. Executed by painters with a fine brush, and consequently, to produce vases, jars, tankards, dishes, and plates. Needless to say, very few of these pieces have survived the ages.

Height of the vases 16.2 inches, total height 30.7 inches

In a wonderful condition, with a few small restorations to the top rims of the vases.
