Accolade Animals
Price on Request – INQUIRE
The Netherlands
1625 – 1650
These tiles are almost 400 years old and are hand painted in cobalt blue on a tin-glazed ground with various animals, a house, and a hunter.
The animals are painted within an accolade and a leaf ornament in the corners. This set has a lot of rare subjects which you don’t see every day on a tile, or on a tile of this date, for example: a lion, a cat, a bear with a walking stick, a fox with prey, a house, an ostrich, and so on!
The tiles are suitable for use in a tiling project, such as a backsplash, fireplace surrounding, or in the bathroom, but can also be displayed mounted as a painting on the wall.
They measure approximately 5.1 x 5.1 inches and are in an overall good condition with the normal wear as can be expected for their age.
On request, we can also deliver matching plain white tiles — originals from the 18th/19th century or hand-made reproductions.
24 available.
