About Mazereeuw Antiquair

Mazereeuw Antiquair was established in 2017 by Johan Mazereeuw, who since he was a young boy, had a passion for art and antiques. Starting as a collector at a young age and dealing on antique markets and small fairs, Johan was able to transform his passion into a business. Together with his business partner Dennis Laseur, he took over the gallery from Dennis’ uncles who founded their business in 1967. Johan and Dennis are a new generation of antique dealers with lots of passion and love for this profession. In their gallery, we offer a varied collection of five centuries of art, from the Golden Age up to and including the Roaring Twenties.

Mazereeuw Antiquair specializes in Dutch Delftware, Dutch Delft Tiles, Dutch Majolica, Glass, and Works of Art from the 16th, 17th, and 18th centuries.

A passion for Art

Their gallery, nestled amidst the picturesque canals and historic architecture of Amsterdam, is a treasure trove that beckons both seasoned collectors and curious art enthusiasts alike. Johan and Dennis, the dynamic duo behind Mazereeuw Antiquair, have meticulously curated a selection that not only showcases the skill and beauty of bygone eras but also tells a rich narrative of The Netherlands' vibrant cultural history.

Walking through the polished wooden floors of the gallery, visitors are transported through time, from medieval times to the Roaring Twenties, with each piece whispering stories of its origin and the hands that crafted it. Dutch Delftware, those exquisite blue and white ceramics that have graced countless homes for centuries, adorns the shelves, capturing the essence of the 17th and 18th-century fascination with the Far East. These delicate pieces, lovingly preserved, are more than just objects; they're a tangible connection to the past, bridging the gap between generations.

Dutch's illustrious history comes alive in the form of Dutch Delft Tiles. These intricate ceramic squares, often used to decorate fireplaces and walls, offer glimpses of Dutch life, from serene pastoral scenes to bustling marketplaces, and from flora and fauna to harsh battlefields. Each tile is a miniature masterpiece, a snapshot of a time when craftsmanship was a revered art form. Visitors can almost feel the pride of the artisans who meticulously painted each tile by hand, passing on their skills through the ages, and showing cultural influences from all over the world.
